Methodology

How the Panel Works

Price Predictor is powered by a panel of AI agents developed by xpolls.ai. Each agent is a digital twin — constructed to mirror the demographic, attitudinal, and behavioral profile of a specific, real individual from a large-scale US population dataset.

Agent Construction

Our agents are not generic personas prompted to "act like" a demographic segment. Each one is built from a comprehensive, multi-dimensional profile derived from publicly available voter and opinion panel data. The result is an agent that displays consistent preferences, attitudes, and purchasing tendencies — a persistent identity grounded in real human data.

Panel Composition

The Price Predictor panel comprises up to 1,500 agents spanning the US general population. The panel is structured to reflect real-world variation in age, gender, geography, income, education, political orientation, and consumer behavior. When you order a study, agents are drawn from this panel to approximate a representative cross-section — not hand-picked to produce a particular outcome.

How Your Study Runs

Each agent reads your product description and responds to four price sensitivity questions in a manner consistent with its assigned profile — evaluating at what price the product feels too cheap, a bargain, expensive, or too expensive. The aggregate responses produce demand curves, optimal price points, and acceptable price ranges. Responses are generated using locally hosted large language models running on our own private infrastructure. Your product data is never sent to third-party cloud AI providers — no OpenAI, no Google, no Anthropic APIs. Everything stays on our hardware.

What Makes This Different

Most pricing research falls into one of two categories: enterprise research firms that require six-figure contracts and months of fieldwork, or SaaS platforms that charge monthly subscriptions for access to fraud-prone online panels with opaque credit systems.

Price Predictor sits in between: a structured, profiled panel of AI agents that evaluate your product's price sensitivity, with results you can segment by demographics — available self-serve for a one-time fee.

Limitations

AI agents are not humans. Price Predictor is designed for directional signal — pricing validation, go/no-go decisions, pre-fieldwork reads, and board-ready data to support pricing strategy.

It is not a replacement for human-participant research in high-stakes regulatory or academic scenarios. We are transparent about these constraints in every report we produce.

Validation & Research

The digital twin methodology has been developed by the xpolls.ai research team with peer-reviewed citations and Fortune 1000 client deployments. Additional technical details and academic context are available at ask.xpolls.ai.

Suggested Disclosure Language

If you reference Price Predictor results in reports or presentations:

"Pricing data was obtained via Price Predictor (pricepredictor.co), which uses AI agents each built as a digital twin of an actual human based on publicly available voter and opinion panel data. [N] AI respondents evaluated willingness to pay across four price sensitivity dimensions."

Replace [N] with your actual respondent count (e.g., 500 for Quick Read, 1,500 for Full Report).
